Lakeland High School was just made aware that a threat made on Instagram was circulated by students. The post was originally made July 2022, however school officials are taking abundant measures to ensure student safety.
Principal Jimmy Hoffman issued this public statement today:
Good afternoon Lakeland High School Families. This morning we were made aware of an instagram post posing a threat to Lakeland High School referencing January 13. The post was made back in July of 2022. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department investigated the post at that time. The post was found to not be credible then & it continues to not be credible. However, out of an abundance of caution, we will have extra police presence/visibility tomorrow during the school day. We became aware of the reposting of this picture because someone saw something and said something. This is the best way we can work together to keep our students safe!
