CDASchools still believes they can pass a $25 million levy, and places a re-worded version on the upcoming May election ballot. Read Between the Lede to get the main points of this story.
- Instead of the recent $25M levy in perpetuity that just failed, the ballot language has been modified to $25 levy for 2 years.
- This will be the 3rd time in the span of 1 year that CDASchools has placed a levy on the ballot.
- If history is any indicator and this re-worked levy passes, CDASchools could easily re-run the levy at the end of the 2-year term thereby making this a “Forever Levy.”
- CDASchools has spent approximately $75K of taxpayer dollars to digital marketing agency Range NW to help “educate” voters about the March levy. It remains to be seen how much they’ll spend for May.
- Superintendent Shon Hocker continues to redirect blame for the levy’s failure on the public. He’s under the impression that the public is simply misinformed by “un-American” anti-levy campaigners.
