Kootenai County Sheriff Partners with Railroad

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday afternoon that it will hold a town hall with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company, and local fire districts to discuss railroad safety.

The meeting was announced in the wake of a number of recent train crashes in the United States. (A train derailed Sunday in St. Regis, Montana; another derailed in February in Ohio).

According to the release announcing the town hall, it will be a great place for residents worried about what trains are carrying through Kootenai County to come ask questions.

The town hall will be held on May 4th at 6:00 in the Post Falls American Legion.
