Last Thursday, Lakeland Joint School District voted 3-2 to end a “no cost” contract with Heritage Health.
Under a contract that had no financial impact to the district, Heritage Health was offering parent-approved counseling at Lakeland School District schools. This allowed parents to admit children into counseling sessions with licensed Heritage Health counselors.
It is unclear why trustees voted to end the contract, but allegations from local conservative parents that Heritage Health has supported various liberal agendas (including last summer’s Pride in the Park) could point to a possible answer.
