The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department apprehended a man wanted for failure to comply with law enforcement. They published the following release detailing the incident:

In the early morning hours of Thursday, May 4, 2023, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified by the Coeur d’ Alene Police Department of the location of Jesse J. Brebner, a 32-year-old male from St. Maries, Idaho. Brebner had active warrants out of Washington for escape and failure to comply with supervision. Brebner had also eluded the U.S Marshal’s Office the previous day, and was the suspect in an incident in Airway Heights, Washington, where a police officer was significantly injured.

Kootenai County Deputies and Coeur d’ Alene Police Officers contacted Brebner in the area of Hwy 95 and Hayden Avenue. Brebner began ramming patrol vehicles, a building and civilian vehicles in his attempt to evade capture.

Law enforcement was able to deploy less lethal force and Brebner was taken into custody without further incident. Brebner was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for Battery on a police officer (Three counts), malicious injury to property (Felony), grand theft by possession, felony eluding and his outstanding warrants out of Washington.

Brebner has five previous jail bookings in Kootenai County dating back to 2013 for parole violation, felony eluding and other charges.
