Last updated:

IDAHO – Citizens who wish to participate in the Idaho Republican Presidential Caucus to be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 must be a registered voter and affiliated with the Idaho Republican Party by December 31, 2023.

To date, six Republican presidential hopefuls have paid the $50,000 fee to secure their place in Idaho’s caucus: Donald Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, and Ryan Binkley.

The Idaho GOP elected to hold their caucus before Super Tuesday, this allows Idaho Republican voters to nominate their choice for president while the race is still hotly contested.

Every registered Idaho voter who affiliated with the Republican party by December 31, 2023, will receive a postcard approximately 14 days before the caucus with the location their precinct is designated to vote. There are no absentee ballots, no early voting, and no proxy voting. Republican voters must show up in person with picture identification on Saturday, March 2, 2023, to cast their ballot.

The Idaho GOP created a website dedicated solely to information related to the 2024 Presidential Caucus.

Dorothy Moon, the Idaho GOP Chairwoman, urges all Idaho Republican voters to ensure their voter registration is up to date. If a voter has moved or changed their name, now is the time to update their information with their county clerk’s elections department. In Kootenai County, the Elections Department is located at 1808 N 3rd Street in Coeur d’Alene.
