COEUR D’ALENE, IDAHO – On December 27, 2023, the office of County Commissioner Bruce Mattare distributed a media release informing the community of a public forum to discuss crime, and how it affects your quality of life.
The forum will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the County Administration Building in Coeur d’Alene. The participating leaders from Kootenai County’s justice system are:
- Sheriff Robert Norris.
- Prosecuting Attorney Stanley Mortenson.
- Juvenile Detention Director Eric Sheffield.
- Adult Misdemeanor Probation Director Keith Hutcheson.
- Juvenile Probation Director Bryan Alexander.
- Court Services Director Kally Young.
- County Clerk Jennifer Locke.
- Commissioner Bruce E. Mattare.
The officials will address many aspects of the criminal justice system, including drug trafficking, juvenile recidivism, falling arrest rates, and how crime affects property taxes.
