Kootenai County is excited to announce our Annual Application Period for Advisory Board Volunteers. Are you seeking a meaningful and rewarding way to contribute to your community? This is your chance to play a crucial role in shaping local decision-making processes while using your voice to influence the future of our community. Each fall, the Board of County Commissioners reviews applications to welcome new members. With current members’ terms expiring and additional vacancies available, this is the perfect opportunity for you to step up and become part of the decision-making process. Join us in making a difference.

  • Airport Board
  • Aquifer Protection District Committee
  • Board of Community Guardian (4-year term)
  • Historic Preservation Commission
  • Natural Resource Board
  • North Idaho Fair Board (4-year term)
  • Noxious Weed Control Board (2-year term)
  • Planning & Zoning Commission
  • Snowmobile Board
  • Waterways Board

Applicants may be asked to interview with the Board of Commissioners. Selected members will be appointed with terms that start January 01, 2025 (The Fair Board terms start January 20, 2025).
