Sharing an Opinion Online Isn’t a Crime

Letter to the Editor

by Don Thompson of Coeur d’Alene

Why would any newspaper in the US directly seek a First Amendment violation?

Reality says no one noticed this because very few read opinion by the CDA Press, or everyone already knows their opinions are so extreme left they are already ignored. I must admit I’m a part of the last group. Combining that opinion with the new CDA hate-law and political persecution rises to the top.

“If they really want to protect citizens’ rights, they should support the local people and programs tasked with public safety and aim their anxiety and anger instead at the online criminals who pose actual threats to society.” CDA Press editorial of 9/13/2024.

So, according to the press, online criminals are a threat to society. Acting as both prosecutor and judge is beyond the reach of the CDA Press for good reason. Some Granny or Grandpa commenting at the NY Post or NY Times, readable anywhere there is internet including CDA, does not determine correctness or incorrectness, it’s just opinion.

Don’t dare bring up the fact Harris/Biden/Mayorkas have violated US immigration Law, ignored rulings of SCOTUS, and generally spew hate and Marxism whenever they speak or write.

Why isn’t the City of CDA and the CDA Press going after Schumer, Schiff, Harris, Biden, Mayorkas, and other extreme left bureaucrats for their hate crimes? They are, in the words of the CDA Press, online criminals.

The First Amendment is reason enough to reject the current Democratic Party. Yes, that’s my opinion.
