Josh Walker Announces Resignation from Post Falls City Council

The City of Post Falls announced today that Councilor Josh Walker has formally submitted his resignation, effective November 30, 2024. Councilor Walker has served as the Councilor in Seat 2 since January 2022.

Councilor Walker is changing careers, which won’t allow time to serve on the City Council. Councilor Walker stated, “It has been an absolute privilege and honor to serve the citizens of our great city and community for the last 3 years. I will forever cherish the experience, and the friendships made along the way.”

Mayor Jacobson commented on the announcement, stating, “We are saddened to lose Councilor Walker, especially on the heels of Councilor Shove moving out of the city. I thank Josh for his service and contributions to our community. We wish him, and his family, all the best in this next phase of their lives.”

The City Council will hold a special meeting on November 26, 2024, to select a replacement for Councilor Shove who resigned from Council Seat 6 on November 1, 2024. The city is now accepting additional applications from persons interested in filling Council Seat 2. Applications must be received by noon on November 27, 2024.

Applicants to fill Council Seat 6 do not need to reapply, their applications will be considered to fill Council Seat 2.
