We must never forget what was done to us, both as individuals and as a society, in the name of disease prevention. COVID-19 was the pretext used to justify nothing less than a years-long suspension of our human rights and civil liberties.
Because it worked, those who perpetrated this will try something like it again. Unless citizens and elected officials take aggressive steps to prevent such another such seizure of control, we will again become prisoners in our own lives, locked away from our friends and family, our freedoms and even the shared worship of our God.
Never before had government been permitted to so thoroughly interrupt the patterns of daily life for so long a time. Certainly, never in the history of human civilization had so much freedom been so thoroughly throttled for so little reason.
Central to this was a governmental seizure of control over communications by collaborating with traditional and social media. Neighbors were encouraged to inform on neighbors. Children were taught to report parents who did not comply with what these innocents were taught was mandatory.
A dogma of COVID “right-think” was concocted by officials and sold to the public by a willing media. This propaganda claimed that the virus came from an accident in a wet market, and not the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
Certain treatments approved by the bureaucracy became mandatory as conditions of employment or school enrollment. Other treatments were denounced by the establishment as not being fit for human use. Anyone who questioned this dogma, regardless of background or qualification, was publicly shamed and ostracized.
The official reaction to COVID effectively suspended the Constitution for the duration of the emergency. This sort of pretext, a crisis so dangerous as to threaten our very survival, is precisely what Hitler employed to suspend the Weimar Republic’s Constitution after the burning of the Reichstag. The COVID response was never about science. It was utilized to serve a political agenda.
The Lab Leak theory was always the most plausible origin for COVID-19. The WIV is Red China’s premier research facility for studying Coronaviruses. There is even compelling evidence that American-sponsored gain of function research was conducted there by the Anthony Fauci affiliated Eco-Health Alliance, to make coronaviruses ever more dangerous.
The reaction of governments, including the first Trump administration, to this pandemic was precisely what one would expect when encountering a Germ Warfare experiment that had broken out of quarantine. Humans do not typically shut down society to stop the spread of disease, but we all did so on this occasion. Leaders reacted as if they were faced with a man-made super virus.
Occam’s Razor would indicate that the pandemic’s source was a lab leak. Any evidence to the contrary originating from the Chinese Communist Party or the politicized World Health Organization is tainted because both entities have a political stake in this theory being rejected.
Science, faith, politics and administration, as distinct things, are each part of the smooth operation of complex societies. However, mixing these indiscriminately in order to more effectively shape social policy has always panicked the public into perpetrating pogroms and witch burnings.
The six-foot social distancing standard has been debunked, as have mask mandates and vaccine mandates. Closing down schools and damaging the economy have had effects that in some ways match the social and economic trauma caused by carpet bombing a civil population. We will all be dealing with the damaged children of COVID for many years.
These policies were exercises in social control not pandemic control. They tested under what circumstances a critical mass of a free people would accept the suspension of their liberties and fundamental human rights.
Tyrants always proclaim that they can save the rest of us from the vicissitudes of life, if only we give them control. This promise has always been a lie.
It is normal for human beings to be subject to plagues. Such events are awful beyond belief. We got lucky with COVID. However, no disease of the body is as dangerous to human life as the disease of the mind that is totalitarian panic.
Never again should we trust a Pied Piper like Anthony Fauci. Never again should we cede control over our lives to government bureaucrats whose solution to every problem in life is to increase their restrictions over our free choices.
Those who spoke out against the accepted narrative, those who embraced cures outside of the approved list of treatments, those who worked and worshipped without submitting to inconsistent closure orders, and those who did not allow themselves to be injected with experimental vaccines against their wills were demonized.
A worse fate awaited those countless souls who took their own lives in the atmosphere of despair stoked by those who exploited this crisis for political gain.
