Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Two Suspects and Uncovers Check Fraud and Mail Theft

Press Release from Post Falls Police Department

POST FALLS, Idaho — On January 31, 2025, Post Falls Police Department (PFPD)officers were dispatched to a report of a truck blocking a lane of travel on Seltice Way at Herborn Place. The caller stated the male driver and female passenger were both asleep while stopped at a red light. A citizen woke them up and told them to pull over into a parking lot to sleep. Instead, they drove away. Within minutes a PFPD officer located the truck and conducted a traffic stop.

A PFPD K9 alerted to the vehicle, and a subsequent search resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine paraphernalia. While conducting this search, officers also located dozens of forged checks and many pieces of mail which did not belong to the occupants of the truck. The driver of the truck provided officers with a false name. His face and neck tattoos made it easy for officers to notice the discrepancy and ascertain his true identity. The male driver and female passenger, both from Spokane, Washington, were arrested on multiple charges.

Joshua Krueger was arrested for False Information to Law Enforcement, Possession of a Fraudulent Check, Criminal Conspiracy, and Possession of Stolen Property.

Christina Morlan was arrested for Possession of Fraudulent Check, Criminal Conspiracy, Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Since the arrest was made, PFPD detectives have been working diligently to identify the victims of the check frauds and mail thefts. So far, they have identified over 50 victims throughout the region. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges from PFPD as well as surrounding agencies are likely.
