COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho — On the afternoon of April 15, 2025, at approximately 1:48 p.m., a KCSO deputy on routine patrol initiated a traffic stop in the area of Northwest Boulevard and Lakewood Drive after observing the vehicle make a routine traffic violation.
The driver was identified as Kassey Trump, who admitted to not having a driver’s license and stated she attempted to avoid contact with law enforcement. The passenger, identified as Derrick Miller, appeared visibly nervous, displaying signs commonly associated with drug use.
During the stop, a K9 officer conducted a free-air sniff around the vehicle. K9 Luuki alerted to the presence of narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle. Inside, deputies located a glass pipe containing a crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine, along with other paraphernalia and packaging materials. Miller admitted to recently purchasing approximately one ounce of methamphetamine in Spokane, Washington. Additional paraphernalia and drugs were located inside the vehicle.
Further investigations revealed approximately 111 grams of methamphetamine, additional packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, and a syringe containing a clear liquid believed to be methamphetamine. A container with unknown white powder and a counterfeit pill suspected of containing fentanyl were also seized and will be tested at the state lab. Miller was arrested and booked at the Kootenai Jail on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, as well as possession of paraphernalia.
Trump was found in possession of additional drug paraphernalia, and an estimated 10 grams of methamphetamine. She was arrested and booked into the Kootenai County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
