Happy Birthday, America! For nearly 250 years America has stood as a symbol of freedom, innovation, and opportunity. Now it’s the next generation’s turn to carry that legacy forward. The choices they make, the values they uphold, and the vision they pursue will help define the future. How will the next generation keep America great for the next 250 years?

The speech contest is open to 9-12 grade public, private, and home-schooled students residing in Kootenai County. The three finalists will give their speech during the dinner where the audience will vote and determine the first, second, and third place winners. Finalists must be able to attend the Lincoln Day dinner where two complimentary tickets will be provided.

The Lincoln Day dinner will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Coeur D’Alene Resort. Matt Gaetz will be the keynote speaker. It will be an exciting event that will bring Republicans from across the county together.

Speech contest application deadline is February 6, 2026. For more information and to apply, go to https://forms.gle/i41Xoj5kEhkVVGot5
