Not with a bang but a whimper.
Mankind in the Western world at the beginning of the Third Millennium of Christian time is in a self-consciously fraught and fragile state. For well over a century, the sinews of that healthy and brash Western Civilization which had conquered the world before World War I have been purposefully cut.
We in the West have long been set up to fail, fall, and be replaced. Our fidelity to Judeo-Christian truth is too great to be borne by those to whom Man is the measure of all things. Pride in our many unique accomplishments makes us obnoxious to those who deem us to be irredeemable. The wealth and power we have acquired by unshackling human creativity and defending human rights makes us stubbornly resist their social engineering.
The capital of the old British Empire, which was the greatest anti-slavery force in human history, is now imprisoning Englishmen for expressing the truth of their consciences and living according to the dictates of their convictions; at least when they violate political correctness.
Stung by the rebuke of traditional British subjects and the President of the United States, their Socialist Prime Minister has been conniving with the Communist Chinese to displace the hegemony of the United States and further subjugate his own people to government surveillance. Giant Red Embassies in London and threats to our critical Diego Garcia airbase are the acts of petty appeasers who prefer the patronage of the greatest mass-murderers in human history to the Orange Man.
Canada’s illegitimate Liberal regime has been working overtime to cause harm to Americans while simultaneously bending their knees to the Butchers of Beijing. In fear that their Conservative and oil-rich Western provinces might leave their failing Federation to join our Federal Union, their Prime Minister has passed up no opportunity to undermine the unique affinity between Canadians and Americans. Australian Liberals have imitated this disruption as well.
At the recent Davos conference, the world’s would-be masters excoriated President Trump because the era of unconditional American support to European welfare states has ended. Trump is demanding conditions for our ongoing military protection and financial support for shouldering the burdens of being the primary protectors of the world against the predations of the Chinese Politburo.
We want the Europeans to avert their demographic suicide from their importation of tens of millions of unassimilable Middle Eastern Moslems into their homelands. We want Europeans to practice genuine freedom by refraining from criminalizing Conservative political parties such as Britain’s Reform UK, France’s National Rally, and the Alternative for Germany (AfD).
Europe’s Ukraine policy is strident and hypocritical. While castigating Trump for any pressure that he exerts on Zelenskyy, the European powers simultaneously choose to reject American liquefied natural gas and instead deepen their dependence on Russian oil and natural gas.
If Europe restores our common values, then a recognizable NATO will continue. If not, then NATO may be realigned to include only the US and Eastern Europe. Or, the United States might leave the emotionally-adolescent Europeans to the tender mercies of Russia, Iran, and China.
All of this strife is being fed by a palpable Canadian, Australian, and European resentment of the very American power that has sheltered them since 1945. Like teenagers trying to differentiate themselves from their parents, a Europe rebuilt by Marshall Plan money and generations of American financing is now publicly demanding to separate from the vulgar ugly Americans.
Domestically, American Leftists have stopped even trying to be a loyal opposition. Ever since Biden damned “ultra-MAGA Republicans” as a threat to our democracy, any means to fight “Fascism” has become normalized. From families splitting over political differences to violent rebellion in Minnesota, the Left tolerates no dissention. This sort of thinking leads to Jihad and genocide.
Carney, Starmer, Macron, Merz, and Albanese are giddy at their betrayal of their American patron. Walz, Ellison, Omar, and Frey are more villainous; ecstatic as they destabilize law and order in order to deflect attention from their own political corruption.
These peevish Quislings and self-indulgent Narcissists are selling out America and the West to Chinese and domestic Communists not out of high principle, but in a fit of pique. Indeed, this is how the trans-Atlantic Pax Americana we have known for 80 years could end, not with a bang but a whimper.
