On February 1st, 2023, Susie Jensen will officially begin her tenure as Bonner County’s District Judge. Jensen, who currently serves as Bonner County’s chief public defender, was appointed to the position by Governor Brad Little on November 30th, 2022. She will be chambered in Sandpoint and preside over district court cases filed in Bonner County.
Jensen will succeed District Judge Barbara Buchanan, who is set to retire on January 31st after 10 years of service on the district court bench. The Idaho Judicial Council, which interviews applicants for vacant district court judgeships outside of election cycles, submitted Jensen’s name to Governor Little for consideration.
