The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department made a number of arrests on Easter Sunday. Among other things, Deputies arrested a man riding his bike near Corbin and Echo in Post Falls. After receiving a call suspicious of the man’s activity, police checked his identity and found several warrants for his arrest.
The Department also responded to the following situations:
- Verbal domestic abuse
- Neighbors mistakenly cutting their neighbors wood
- Two drug possessions

Notable calls for the day!!!

In addition to the notable calls, we are going to add the total number of Phone calls the Consolidated Central Dispatch Center (Central) took in for the day, the number of 911 phone calls and the total number of calls dispatched, which include Fire, Med and Law Enforcement Calls. The Dispatch Center is responsible for serving 14 fire, medical and law enforcement agencies throughout the county.
Total Phone Calls— 90 (These are non-emergency phone calls)
Total 911 Phone Calls— 172 (These are emergency calls)
Total calls dispatched— 276 (These represent every call entered into our system, which includes self-initiated activity from the officers and other first responders)

Day Shift handled the following notable calls: Deputies contacted a male on a bike in the area of Corbin and Echo in Post Falls. The male was identified and had several active warrants out of Kootenai County. He was arrested.
Deputies responded to a report of a verbal domestic in Hayden. No crimes were committed, however the female on scene was showing a warrant and was arrested.
Evening Shift handled the following notable calls: Deputies responded to a trespassing call. It was reported that neighbors were cutting timber on a vacant lot that they did not own. When the deputy contacted the neighbors, he was provided paperwork that showed the neighbors owned the property, however they were on the wrong property. They were very apologetic and stopped cutting wood.
Night Shift handled the following notable calls: Deputies checked out with a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a business in Hayden. During the contact, Deputies noted the signs of drug use. The driver admitted to using meth recently and failed some evaluations. The driver was arrested for DUI and possession of meth.
Deputies checked out with a suspicious vehicle in a business in Post Falls. When the Deputy contacted the driver he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded a small amount of meth and para. The driver was arrested for the drug possession.
