Traffic Stop Yields 16 Pounds of Methamphetamine

POST FALLS, ID — On the evening of October 23, 2023, a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop for a minor traffic violation around Interstate 90 and Pleasantview Road in Post Falls, Idaho. During the traffic stop, K9 officer Appa conducted an external sniff of the vehicle and indicated drugs were located inside. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, around 16 pounds of methamphetamine were located. 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jose E. Ramos, a 22-year-old male, and the passenger identified as Guillermo M. Duarte, a 20-year-old male, both from Yakima, Washington. 

Ramos and Duarte were both booked into the Kootenai County Jail for trafficking methamphetamine, and the case number is 23-46223.
