Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
The direction journalism has gone, both nationally and locally, in the last few years, has been a far cry from what journalism was originally intended to do, and be. Instead of holding those in government, and powerful positions accountable, the media holds bad actors up as models of perfection, which allows corrupt officials to remain in power, and rewards them. It has been a challenge to find national, and local news, without an obvious bent toward either the political left or the right, and there are obvious manipulations, including outright lies, knowingly published. I want to thank you for taking on the important task of providing unbiased reporting to our community in Kootenai County. We need the bare-bones truth now more than ever. There is so much at stake, and the left is obviously in control of the current paper of record in the county. I feared journalism was lost, here and around the country, but you have restored my faith. I know it is not without sacrifice. You have my gratitude and my support. I, and others, are praying for the success of this endeavor. May God bless you greatly.
