The office of County Commissioner Bruce Mattare distributed a media release informing the community of a public town hall to address concerns regarding the airport.
On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., Mattare will host a town hall event at the county administrative building located at 451 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene. Joining him will be the airport director, Gaston Patterson, and the chairman of the airport advisory board, Brian Cleary.
According to the press release, the following topics will be discussed:
- Why the airport needs a tower.
- Whether the airport should maintain its current Part 139 Certification.
- Whether the county should compete with the Spokane International Airport.
- How the airport can engage the community more.
- What role the airport plays in employment and keeping the community resilient in economic downturns.
The town hall will be recorded for those who are unable to attend.
