Theft Leads to Arrest for Drug Trafficking, Unlawful Possession of Firearms

COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho — At approximately 9:00 p.m. on October 21, 2024, detectives and deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Kootenai County Joint Agency SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Teams, as well as the Coeur d’Alene Police K9 Unit, executed a search warrant at 1201 North 15th Street, Coeur d’Alene. This operation was initiated following the theft of a game camera reported on October 15, 2024. The camera, which continued to transmit photos and GPS locations, led law enforcement to the residence.

After announcing their presence, deputies safely detained all occupants of the home. During the search, investigators recovered 14 firearms, approximately 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine, and the stolen game camera.

Two individuals, 54-year-old Daniel Grove and 45-year-old Christeena Ferguson, both residents of Coeur d’Alene, were arrested on multiple charges, including unlawful possession of firearms, trafficking in methamphetamine, and habitual offender status. They are currently held at the Kootenai County Public Safety Building without bail.
