Press Release from Kootenai Classical Academy
Kootenai Classical Academy (KCA) is now accepting applications for grades K-10 for fall of 2025. The application window will be open from January 9, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. PST until March 10, 2025 at 7:59 p.m. PST. Depending on the number of applications the school receives, a lottery to determine enrollment will happen on March 13, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. PST. Enrollment applications are available on the KCA website and hard copies are available at the school located at 4318 N. Fennecus Road in Post Falls.
KCA has partnered with Hillsdale College’s Barney Charter School Initiative to offer a tuition-free, classical school dedicated to educating well-rounded students with what is timeless, fundamental, and best in human thought—including in the arts, math, science, history, government, literature, philosophy, music, and languages. Currently, the Hillsdale family of public, classical charter schools includes over 100 schools across America.
KCA opened in the fall of 2023 with grades K-8, added 9th grade in 2024, and plans to add 10th, 11th, and 12th grades consecutively in 2025, 2026, and 2027 to become a full K-12 institution by the year 2027.
Please visit the school website at www.kootenaiclassical.org to learn more about the school’s educational model, and to receive updates on community events, building construction additions, and much more. KCA has information sessions scheduled from now until the end of May at the school. The dates for these sessions will be posted on the KCA website and on the school’s Facebook and Instagram sites.
The educational model supported by Hillsdale College’s Barney Charter School Initiative provides an education that is both classical and American in its orientation; one that is rooted in liberal arts and sciences, offers a firm grounding in civic virtue, and cultivates moral character.
In addition to its educational model, KCA offers a range of sports including wrestling, martial arts, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, and track.
