Sheriff Norris: Illegal Non U.S. Citizens Should ‘Self-deport’

Press Release from Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office

On February 5, 2025, Sheriff Robert Norris testified in an Idaho Legislative Hearing in support of making it against Idaho law for an illegal alien to enter or remain in the state of Idaho, House Bill 83. The bill passed committee and proceeds to the house floor for full house vote.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Border Patrol form stronger partnership.

Kootenai County Deputy Sheriffs and Border Patrol Agents will be working together, in tandem, in the same vehicle at times, to assist in keeping Kootenai County Safe.

The Sheriff has had many various media interviews and below is a summary of those interviews.

The Sheriff said that all assets of the KCSO will be used to assist in the deportation of the following persons:

  • A non U.S. citizen who is here illegally committing a crime.
  • A non U.S. citizen who is here legally committing a crime.
  • A non U.S. citizen who is here illegally.

The Sheriff recommends that if one fits in any of the above categories, they should self-deport.

Criminals and illegal aliens be aware-Kootenai County is a Sanctuary County for all LAW-ABIDING citizens of the United States and those who are here legally.
