Pursuit Leads to Felony Arrest

COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho — On March 3, 2025, at approximately 2:00 pm, Shoshone County received a traffic complaint of a possible DUI on a silver 2005 Honda Civic. Shoshone County Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on I-90 near mile post 45. The Civic did not stop, and the deputy initiated a pursuit. During the pursuit it was discovered the Civic was reported stolen today.

The Idaho State Police took over the pursuit near mile post 19, in Kootenai County. Troopers were able to spike the vehicle, effectively deflating the tires.

 The vehicle continued northbound of 15th, where a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) was used to stop the vehicle.

Troopers, along with Kootenai County and Shoshone County Deputies quickly apprehended and arrested the driver, a 34-year-old male out of Missoula, Montana. He was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on probable cause for:

  • Felony Eluding
  • Driving Under the Influence
  • Felony Possession of Stolen Property
  • Driving Without Privileges
  • Providing False Information to Law Enforcement

Idaho State Police continues to investigate the incident.
