Democrat Fantasies

Keep Right — Column by Ralph K. Ginorio

For the sake of a healthy nation, with emotionally mature citizens who engage in a robust civic discourse, I hope for sanity on the Left. Thus far this hope remains unrequited. In fact, the Socialist and Progressive Democrat Party’s descent into increasingly irrational delusion seems to be worsening.

Leftist talking heads are railing that Donald Trump is engaging in “unprecedented lawfare” against his political opponents, because Letitia James, Jim Comey, and John Brennan are being brought up on charges. It is astonishing that they can do so with a straight face, given the genuinely unprecedented weaponization of Biden’s FBI and Justice Department in collusion with blue state officials against Donald Trump that was happening less than a year ago.

Trump was tried on technicalities, on charges that had passes their statute of limitations, in courtrooms presided over by partisan hacks. He was found guilty, impeached twice, and harassed in his home and person; all in a desperate hope to render him ineligible to run for President in 2024.

Agent provocateurs in the FBI sparked the intrusion into the Capital Building on January 6, 2021, providing a Reichstag Fire-type pretext for Biden to coordinate with Big Tech to silence of Conservative voices on the internet. Does anyone remember their extermination of the Parler app, or the heavy-handed censorship on Facebook and pre-Elon Musk Twitter (now X)?

Yet, today’s Leftists imagine that Americans have no memory of their recent excesses. The fantasy of a Constitution-shredding Trump is touted completely out of context and is characterized out of any objective proportion; all to feed the fantasies of their Marxist base.

Civil discourse has once again become the watchword for Democrats and their Fellow Travelers. How dare Trump meme about dropping sewage onto “No Kings” protesters from an FA-18 while wearing a crown?! How dare he countenance the overlay of sombreros and cheap moustaches onto Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies while AI fakes them admitting that, “everybody hates the Democrats” with Mariachi music in the background?! How vulgar
and crude, they cry; how un-Presidential!

Yet Joe Biden stood in front of a blood red back-lit façade with armed Marines behind him, warning in the most Hitlerian address I have ever seen from a US President, that Trump and “Ultra-MAGA Republicans” like myself were today’s National Socialists; an existential threat to “our Democracy”.

This castigation of Republicans as Nazis is nothing uncommon. It has been the central theme of Democrat propaganda for at least the past three years. Yet to these sensitive souls, sophomoric videos are more consequential in undermining civility than literally calling Trump Hitler and demonizing Conservatives as being Nazis.

Such poison has its consequences. We have seen more assassination attempts against this President than at any time since Squeaky Fromme and then Sara Jane Moore attacked President Gerald R. Ford exactly fifty years ago.

Charlie Kirk was murdered on camera for daring to engage in open conversation with passers-by on college campuses, now typically closed to any views that dissent from Leftist orthodoxy. Yet, the fervor against the temporary suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s declining late-night talk show far eclipsed any faux remorse that Leftists expressed over Kirk’s assassination.

Recently, Soros-funded “No Kings” protests returned to belabor the tiresome point that there should be no Kings in the United States. Trump’s actions to fulfill his campaign promises to end illegal immigration, deport illegal aliens, drain the swamp (the permanent and until-now unaccountable Federal bureaucracy), restore law and order, end the drug crisis, improve the healthiness of our food supply, de-couple from China, restore American strength, and wherever
possible bring peace, were all mischaracterized as somehow monarchical.

Trump has, indeed, seen real success since taking office on all of these fronts. He has done more to dramatically reshape our Federal government than anyone since Franklin D. Roosevelt’s first hundred days back in 1933. In fact, Trump’s reforms may be the most consequential since Abraham Lincoln’s during our Civil War.

In all of this, Trump’s actions have been (largely unsuccessfully) challenged in the courts, delayed in Congress, and hemmed in by decades of bureaucratic inertia. Huge factions within the Federal bureaucracy who stymied Trump’s initiatives during his first term are now fighting to do the same thing in his second.

At no time has Donald Trump violated his Constitutional role. In fact, his reform of the Federal bureaucracy restores Presidential authority over what had become the largely-independent fiefdoms of un-elected administrators.

His restoration of the rule of law in Washington DC and elsewhere is reminding big-city dwellers that they need not settle for dystopia. They can instead have clean streets without ubiquitous crime, if they stop electing machine politician Democrats.

Trump’s targeting of Venezuelan and Columbian Drug Cartels (both financed by China) does as much to restore a protective boundary around American civil life as does his famous wall. He rightly sees the flooding of American neighborhoods with narcotics as toxic as Fentanyl as being an act of war.

These protests came less than a week after the most consequential peace treaty in the Middle East since Trump’s 2020 Abraham Accords, which were themselves the most consequential since President Jimmy Carter’s 1978 Camp David Accords. They came at a time of the lowest gas prices in years has reduced inflation by increasing our energy supply.

Yet, all the Democrats seem to care about is symbolism. They decry Trump’s building of a privately-funded ballroom in an expanded White House East Wing while persisting in a strategy of Federal Shut-down, because their attempts to extort monies that they couldn’t earn through the electoral process have failed.

Irrationalism spawns the types of debilitating delusions which rightly disqualify their victims from adult responsibility. Today’s Democrats are captivated by their fever dreams. They will need to be reawakened the next time that Americans go to the polls.
