On Tuesday, Kootenai County voters elected a number of officials to various community leadership positions as well as several school levies. According to unofficial vote tallies from the County, voters overwhelmingly approved levies proposed by local school districts.

The Kootenai County Democrats link on their party’s website to the endorsements from Democrats and Republicans Together and the CDA Press endorsements. Contrarily, the Kootenai County Republicans (KCRCC) directly endorsed candidates and policy positions.

Hospital District

Voters had the opportunity to choose two of the three candidates for the Kootenai County Hospital Board. Coming in first was the Republican endorsed Chris Nordstrom. Second, Democrat supported candidate Thomas R. deTar. This is the best the Democrats could hope for as he was their only endorsed candidate.

Community Library Network

The Community Library Network race was within five percentage points. However, both republican candidates–Tom Hanley and Tim Plass–happened to squeeze into the top two positions, beating out incumbants Regina McCrea and Judy Meyer.

Levies

All proposed levies succeeded, except a Mica Kidd Island Fire Protection District levy.
